Strong time management skills are characterized by the ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently and effectively (Claessens, 2007, p 262). For students, this includes completing assigned academic tasks by the due date and allowing sufficient time to study for test and quizzes. This ability depends both on organizational skills (e.g. making schedules and to-do lists) and the wherewithal to avoid distractions during time set aside for work.
